Shawty Lo Calls Off Engagement; New Label

Shawty Lo’s single again and back on the prowl. This past June, the rapper proposed to his girlfriend Ecreia Perez, but a month later, had a change of heart. Here’s what he told MTV:
“Things happen. I can’t point no fingers. We were separated, the engagement lasted probably a month. It was a 10-year relationship, I love her still, but it’s time to move on. It’s over. I’m finnin’ to move on. I got everything new going for me. Something happened that I found out,” he said. “Me, being a man, you just can’t deal with certain stuff, put up with certain stuff. So, you know, it’s better for us to separate. I can’t talk about it. That my daughter’s mother. I got much respect for her. … [But] yeah, I’m single right now.”
Change is good. Speaking of which, L-O also announced that he’s renamed D4L Records to 2610: BHF. The name represents his former address and Bowen Homes Family.
“I just want a fresh look,” he said. “I feel like I got a whole new movement. And I feel the D4L got a curse on it. People think it’s the dancing, the snap [music]. I just wanna get a whole new look.

Bizzy Bone To Sign With Cash Money Records

Cash Money scoops up a member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony for a solo deal.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony emcee Bizzy Bone is reportedly nearing a deal with Cash Money Records, which continues to add talent to its roster.
The Cleveland rapper will release at least one album on the label, reports AllHipHop.com .
This news is positive in contrast to recent headlines involving Bizzy, which included reports that he would join VH1's Celebrity Magazine.
Bizzy Bone, who was on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's reunion album, UNi5: The World's Enemy, chose not to be part of the tour in support of the project.
There are currently no further details regarding the solo deal.
In the past weeks, Cash Money Records has signed Cool & Dre, Freeway, and Bow Wow.

Waka Flocka & Gucci Mane Split ?

Do you know why Gucci and Nicki decided to part ways with your mom?
I can say when you start getting hot, there are a lot of people that get in your ear. I call that the devil. It’ll turn you against the people that helped you. They must have just felt like they needed a change. Maybe they felt like other people can take their career somewhere else. I don’t know. Just like LeBron going to the Heat. I ain’t mad, though, or got problems with anybody. Moms is good; her bills are paid.
Has the split affected your relationship with Gucci?
Yeah, all the way… All the way. I ain’t got beef or anything but it has changed.
So what’s your relationship like now?
There is none. We don’t talk anymore.
Shyne Explains Judaism Conversion

Yeah! My parents were nonreligious, but my grandmother, when she would tell me about God, she would tell me in the Jewish perspective. From Moses and David. I never went to church or none of that other shit. I believed in God and Moses. That connection was made since I was a young muthafucka. But not on that level of the way it is now, where I know the law, the history of the Hebrews on the scholastic level, you can say. Like, I know all the ins and outs. Like, at one point, all I knew was the soul of it, which was the essence of it, which was the connection of God and man. That’s the fundamental connection.
I could have did that on the street. I could have did that on my second album, and after went away to Israel. You would think I could make a greater connection on the street than in the pen. But, anyway, that just came across natural growth, natural development. You know what Jamal Barrow means? Nothing. I don’t connect with that. My mother didn’t give me that name. Even though me and my pops is cool now, me and him didn’t have the relationship to have life in that name. So that name didn’t contribute who I was and who I am. The only ting that contributed to me was my direct relationship with God. And the only person I could think of that has such a great relationship with God was Moses. Like they say, he walked with God, talked to God face-to-face. You know, God will reveal himself in different ways, and people will have different connections. But, like, Moses fucked with God. And being on the streets, surviving bullets, poverty, I dealt with God face to face. Getting pinched and trying to put that record out so I can feed my family, to see my dreams come true. I looked at my life and was like, I got a real, real relationship with this muthfuckin’ man, probably more than most men on the earth. And who got this relationship? Moses. And that’s why I came up with that. That’s who I wanted to be like. I don’t want to be like Jamal. I wanna be like Moses. And Levi, he was a singer, a priest—he was a musician. And so I’m a musician. And Levi, I didn’t even know, was Moses’ grandfather. Come to find out, everything you know it before you know it. It’s im you before you even understand the dynamics of it.

Nicki Minaj Announces Album Date

Mark your calendars, folks. On Tuesday November 23rd, Nicki Minaj is scheduled to release her untitled debut. Back in March, she dropped her street single, “Massive Attack” and then pulled out of Rihanna’sLast Girl On Earth tour to work on the project. Though information surrounding the LP is scarce, her current single “Your Love”, remains at the top of the Rap Charts. MTV recently caught up with album collaborator Swizz Beatz and he says the rapper has stepped up to the plate.
“As far as Nicki, she’s an amazing writer,” Swizz said. “She wrote her own choruses, and she’s doing some amazing things on the choruses. The third song, the last song [we recorded together], is the only song I did the chorus on, and she might even switch that. … I’m not really trying to be on every chorus like that no more.”

Drake Gives Back To Jamaica
Drake donated a heap of money—well, $25,000 to be exact, to help fund the “Drake and Mavado Peace Center” in Cassava Piece, Jamaica. Drizzy shot his video, “Find Your Love” on the island last April, but was panned by the tourism board for its imagery. He told local newspaper, The Jamaica Star:
“I had a great time when I was in Jamaica and the people of Cassava Piece showed me a lot of love. I just wanted to show back some love by helping out with Mavado’s project on the Gullyside. It’s a very positive move and something I am very happy to be a part of. Education is the key to life so to be able to assist in that process is very fulfilling.”
Big up! Mavdao, a Cassava Piece native said he was thankful for the donation.
“We’re grateful for his contribution, it’s a great gesture, he is not even a Jamaican, so for him to do dis and help build a foundation of knowledge and learning in our community is, yuh nuh, appreciated. Odda successful Jamaicans should tek a leaf out of Drake’s book and gi back to di communities from weh dem born and grow.
